Menu Lists are where recipes will be stored in the system. These work as categories to which you can link menu items.
Creating / Editing Menu Lists
Menu Lists are where your recipes will be stored in the system. Think of these as categories to which you can link your menu items. Menu lists are helpful in that they can show you all recipes that exist for a particular category and you can set associated target cost percentages. Menu lists can be created and edited by following these simple steps:
- Click the Recipes tab from the navigation menu and click Menu Lists.
- Click the +New Menu List button to the far right.
- A new window will open where you can create a name, description, and a cost % associated with the new menu list.
- Once satisfied with the parameters click the blue +New Menu List button in the bottom right of the window.
This Menu List will now be available to be selected when you create a new Recipe.
Editing Menu Lists
You may need to edit your Menu List if you want to rename it, edit the description, or change the target cost % for the recipes on the list.
- Click the Recipes tab from the navigation menu on the left and click Menu Lists.
- Locate the desired Menu List from the available options and click directly on the name in blue (under the Menu List column).
- This will bring up the Menu List window where you can make changes to the List Name, Description, and Cost %.
Viewing Recipes under a Menu List
- Click the Recipes tab from the navigation menu on the left and click Menu Lists.
- Locate the desired Menu List from the available options and click directly on the number count in blue (under the Recipes column).
- From here you can view all the recipes that have been linked to a specific Menu List. They will be labeled by the recipe name, number of ingredients used, serving cost, serving price, cost %, and reprice.
Some things to keep in mind
- The list of recipes associated with a Menu List can be exported and printed when needed by clicking the download button in the upper right.
- Menu lists are independent in each of the platforms (Bevager & Foodager).
- The Reprice indicator is based on the target cost % of the Menu List the recipe is on. To get the most out of the Reprice information you should ensure the Menu List the recipe is on has the correct target Cost %.
