**Please note that this report is only accessible for users whose POS systems support reporting of this nature, and users who have been grandfathered into the report.**
The Point of Sale tab under your Reports List features an Operations Statement, which allows you to see your Sales and Cost of Sales against Operations Groups that you can configure. Ops Group Mappings are optional to complete and do not count towards your POS Mappings being ready to generate accurate sales data. See below for an example statement and how to configure this report to your organization's specifications.
To configure your Operations Statement:
- Create Ops Groups
- Map POS Groups to the Ops Groups
- Map Craftable Categories and Subcategories to the Op Groups.
Configure the statement from the Ops Settings page. Navigate to Point of Sale from the navigation panel, select POS Mappings, and then Ops Group Mappings.
1. Create Ops Groups
From the Ops Group Mapping section, set your Ops Groups and Subgroups based on how you want to see the data.
Popular setup methods include having parent groups of Gross Food and Gross Beverage, with subgroups under Gross Beverage of Wine, Beer, Liquor, and subgroups under Gross Food of N/A Bev and Food.
You can rearrange Subgroups within the OPS Group under the Sales and Cost of Goods tab by clicking the dot matrix icon to the left, or delete using the trash can icon. You should create the Parent Groups first and then the Subgroups.
2. Map POS Group to Ops Groups
The Sales tab allows you to map groups from your POS to the Ops Groups you configured in the previous step. Start by clicking the + icon and selecting the relevant POS Group from the dropdown.
Once you've selected a group you will see two options underneath.
The No Subgroup toggle means that the mapping will be to any POS Item mapped to the selected Group, but has no POS Subgroup, or the POS Subgroup is blank.
The POS Subgroup dropdown allows you to map to All POS Subgroups within the POS Group (the default option), or you can get granular and select just a specific POS Subgroup to map to.
3. Map Categories/Subcategories to Ops Groups
On the Cost of Sales tab, you should map your Bevager/Foodager Categories to the Ops Groups you set up on the first tab. Like on the previous tab, the default option is all Subcategories under a Category, but you can get more granular using the Subcategory dropdown if desired.
Once you have completed your Ops Settings configuration, you can access the report by going to Reports > Reports List > Point of Sale > Operations Statement. If your Ops Settings have not been configured, the report will prompt you to set them up.
Operations Statement Update: 11/18/2024
The Operations Statement report now supports filtering Cost calculated by GL OR by Category!
The report will continue to be organized by Ops Group. The update simply allows you to run the report utilizing the category from the invoices or the GL associated with those invoices.
