THEORETICAL COSTS REPORT

The Theoretical Costs Report allows you to see your theoretical Total Cost and Total Sales for each Recipe/POS Item sold in a given Period or Date Range as well as your establishment's overall Cost %. Refer to the steps below on how to view the Theoretical Costs Report.

Viewing Theoretical Costs Report

  1. Click Reports > Reports List from the navigation.

  2. Click Theoretical Costs under the Point of Sales heading.

  3. Filter by Period/Date.

  4. Select POS Group, POS Subgroup and/or POS Items for a more granular view (optional).

  5. Click Go to view the results.

Some things to keep in mind

  • Each column in the report can be clicked on in order to reorganize the data. 
    For example you can click on Cost % to see in descending order which POS Item which Recipes/POS Items are costing your business the most to sell.

  • Export the data in this report to Excel by clicking the download button in the upper right.

  • We recommend viewing this report by 'Matched POS Items' for the most accurate cost data.

  • If a modifier is not showing up in your Theoretical Cost Report note that POS Modifiers are only meant to display cost if they are mapped to modifier recipes in which add product to that recipe.

 

Column Key

POS Group: Name of POS Group

POS Subgroup: Name of POS Subgroup

POS Item: Item as displayed in POS system

Recipe: Name of Recipe

Qty: Total sales of POS Item 

Total Cost: Total cost of POS Item’s sales 

Total Sold: Total sales of POS Item

Cost: Cost of single POS Item unit

Price: Price of single POS Item unit

Cost %: (Cost/Price) * 100%
