The promo threshold serves as a notification system for price changes during the invoice approval process.
The promo threshold alerts you to price changes when approving invoices. By setting a Promo Threshold percentage, you determine the price change percentage that will trigger notifications upon clicking 'approve invoice'. A lower percentage increases the frequency of these alerts.
This way, you are alerted to double-check promotional prices, and pricing errors, or simply to monitor regular price fluctuations.
This is especially useful when vendors provide heavily discounted or free items, prompting you to confirm whether to accept the new price or retain the previous one to avoid unnecessary reductions.
You may change the Promo Threshold percentage by going to your Profile Dropdown -> Store Settings -> Store Info.
You will see this in effect when approving invoices. If the CU price of any items on a particular invoice would change more than the Promo Threshold % then you will be asked to confirm the change for each item before approving the invoice.
Things to keep in mind
- 20% is a new Store's default Promo Threshold.
- The lower the Promo Threshold, the more likely you are to spot potential pricing errors and/or price changes.
- If the price difference when approving invoicing seems too large, review the details of the line item in question. The variables that will affect the CU price are pack size, quantity, and total amount of the line item.
