CREDITS, CHARGES & TAXES WITHOUT BOOKS

If you utilize Bevager or Foodager for invoice processing and do not have a subscription to the Books section of the platform, you will need to build your Credits, Charges, and Taxes directly within Bevager or Foodager.

Go to Invoices > Credits, Charges & Taxes to access this page. You can use the +Add Credit, Charge or Tax button at the top right to add additional options. These will be available when you receive invoices as options.

Setting up Tax

If you have a flat rate tax that will be applied to certain items or categories you should select Tax as the Type, enter a Name, and then enter the flat Tax Rate in the field below. You will be able to pre-select which items have this Tax allocated to them on the Tax Mappings screen. See the article titled Tax Mappings for further details.

If the Tax should be distributed across the lines select the check box next to "Accounting Object will appear on Invoice Subtotal", and then select the appropriate option on the Distribute tab. See the section titled "Distributing" below for more details.

Please Note - tax that is not distributed does not affect the CU Price of the item. If you would like the tax to affect the CU Price you should select the check box for "Accounting Object will appear on Invoice Subtotal" and select a distribution method that indicates it will affect the item's CU Price.

Setting up Charges and Credits

To set up a Charge or Credit select the appropriate option for the Type, and then enter a Name. If the Charge or Credit should always go to a specific Category (e.g. Delivery, Fees, etc...) you can select the relevant Category. For more information on customizing your categories see the Categories & Subcategories article.

Distributing

If you select to have a credit, charge, or tax included in the Subtotal, you will have the option to distribute across items on an invoice. You can select how to distribute the line or select "Not Distributed" to not distribute the line. You can read a description below each distribution method to decide if it is correct for you.

Primarily you want to assess whether or not the distribution should affect the item's CU Price - if you do not want it to affect the CU Price you should select either "Not Distributed" or "Distribute to the Largest Amount", as the other three options will impact the CU Price of the item. For more information on CU Price see the article titled "Understanding CU Price".
